Author
The "Ugly Ducking" was originally written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1844. Created in the country of Denmark, Andersen wanted his life to be commentary in his work, so he chose to write, “The Ugly Duckling,” to portray the more negative side of his growing up. Anderson felt extremely ugly all the time, much like the ugly duckling, and was ridiculed often, but lived to have the last laugh. However, his life consisted of finding himself and recognizing his problems, but making the best of it.
